Consistency

Consistency is contrary to nature, contrary to life. The only completely consistent people are dead. ~Aldous Huxley
Though that's quite profound and partly true, I do not agree. I will not spend time making counter arguments will ya, let it be.

God is said to be immutable. Meaning, He never changes his mind, He is faithful and He will never change. Unlike us, we are as dynamic as change itself. We are not consistent. We are not always reliable. Please underscore the word 'always'. For sometimes, or more often, we are reliable but not always. We are unfaithful.

Blogging, for example, is another activity where only a few of us are consistent. I, for one. Consistent in our promise and intent to only blog about what we have decided to blog about. (No pun intended.) But see, we basically blog just about anything. Well, I am not entirely saying that is bad. Okey, sound like I am contradicting myself there huh. What I fear is that, we are not being fair with our readers if we fail to deliver what we promised which they expect.

Blogging needs consistency in a lot of respects; e.g., regular updates, sensible posts, less paid reviews (perhaps? Am not trying to put money where my mouth is not, okey. I know for some of us,blogging pays the bills.), prompt response to comments, less digressions, more sensitive to relevant issues. Sounds ideal huh?

  3. hello ronnie =) its true we are unfaithful but I am thankful that God is!

    and yeah, there are some bloggers who are not consistent. one example would be that "i drop u follow movement" thing. There were days that I dropped like a lot but very few only followed. same goes with that "u comment i follow thing".

    i also found some sites that has too many sponsored posts. it bugs me sometimes.

    i also wanna make money off my blog but i will make sure that i do not forget my main purpose =)

    btw did u comment on my entry in letters from the soul? i think you were expecting a response from me. but the thing is I think the site owner hasn't posted it =)

  5. My main purpose was not to set out to make cash, however because of the nature of my blog I do run adsense and I have a donation button. The adsense lol has brought me 4 dollars, and the donation button has brought me nothing lol.

    All that being said I added these features because my blog is about baking, and my promise to my readers is that I will try every recipe I put up. So I have to buy flour and eggs and sugar and special milks and all of these baking supplies. It can get costly, but Still I would rather be consistent and post about what I have made then to randomly place a recipe on there that I haven't made sure works first.

    So I think consistency is important, but for some bloggers the need to make the income because of a result of the blog has to be looked at when viewing the blog.

    I agree with you there. Being consistent, I must admit, is very difficult. However, efforts should be made.

    Making money out of our blog is not bad at all. I do that too and doin' it well. I sounded too ideal maybe there because am trying to imply that many, like me, are not consistent with their blog intents. It will always be struggle between writing a relevant post and having a paid post that is way off-tangent.
